Catching Up-Part 1-Catherine's Award

The kids have been out of school for 2 weeks now and I have yet to catch up on some of their "end of the school year" accomplishments...

In May, Catherine received the "Husky of the Month" award (aka "student of the month). Each month a student is chosen who best represents a certain "skill trait" (based on John Wooden's-rest his soul- Pyramid of Success framework). These specific skill focuses encourage students to be their personal best.

May's skill focus was "Self Control" and a very appropriate for Catherine to be rewarded (as this is an area Catherine has to work hard at)

Here is what her teacher had to say about Catherine at the school assembly...

Catherine was chosen a Room 5's Husky of the Month for her wonderful ability to control herself in all situations. She is a quiet and conscientious worker who tries hard to make good choices and always follows the rules, even when those around her might not be. She does not let others around her sway her to make a choice that she knows is wrong and has set a fantastic example for the rest of the class. I am so proud of her! Keep up the great work Catherine!
Catherine! We love you and are proud of you too!
