Softball is a much more laid back experience than baseball (well at least at the U8 level). It more about the cheers and the snacks... with a little softball thrown in! Catherine has played softball for the last three seasons. This year her team was the Green Shamrocks! Catherine had a great season. The highlight for her was most definitely getting the chance to pitch in a few games. I have to say, that is where she is best suited (or catcher). Not necessarily because she is "better" than the rest, but rather because that is where most of the action happens and she NEEDS to keep moving. Putting her in the outfield just doesn't work. She is more interested in picking weeds than paying attention to the game.
Catherine played very well and developed as a player this season. She was very consistent at bat and was always proud when she had a good hit!
I am not sure if she will play softball again next season...we will have to see. We might try another sport that keeps her moving around some more--perhaps tennis!
