These booties are made for walking!

Baby Brendan is officially up and about!

For a few weeks now he has been cruising the furniture and walls, and using his push toy to make it around the room. Most times he would let go and usuallyend up falling on his bottom. Well, yesterday was the day, he put it all together and was quite proud of himself. Although, he is still stumbling around like a drunken sailor. It is hard to believe that my baby boy is walking around. Time really goes so fast ... next week he'll be driving and the following month graduating from college and then having my grandbabies !! OK, I guess I am getting a little ahead of myself. We are enjoying him so much at this stage and pausing certain moments to soak them in is nice from time to time.

See, the thing is, they don't tell you in the pregnancy books that you are never quite sure when to record those "firsts". Does a first smile count if it is only half his mouth? What if the baby smiles at the wall and not you? Does that count? Does first crawling count if the baby sort of crawls half a step and then does a belly flop on his face? And those first steps, when are they really considered walkers? What about potty training? Is your child potty trained if they make it to the toilet 50% of the time?

Milestones, like everything else in life, are open to interpretation. But for me, our Brendan is 12 1/2 months...our earliest walker yet and he is a blast !!!
