How clean are my floors...you ask?
Well, this morning at breakfast, Andrew started to pour himself cereal. Instead of going into the bowl, most of the cereal wound up all over the kitchen floor. Without me saying a word, he walked over to the pantry and pulled out the hand broom and dustpan. I stood in disbelief as he began to clean up his mess all on his own. I inhaled deeply, excited and amazed at the self-motivation of my 3 year old. I was practically giddy at the sight of his desire for cleanliness in our home. Just as I was about to praise him for his good work, however, he stood up and proceeded to dump the entire contents of the dustpan into his cereal bowl. I exclaimed for him to stop. He turned a looked at me in surprise...like "what?". Matthew (older brother) then told me not to worry about it, and reminded me that I was the one who taught them about the
"5 minute rule" (altered from the 5 second rule after having a few kids)!
